I am proud to announce that I am currently working on an American Premiere of Aidan Matthew’s play EXIT/ENTRANCE, directed by M. Burke Walker. The show is part of the 1st Irish Festival happening all over NYC in September, with 16 different shows. It is being produced by the lovely Origin Theatre Company.

The film “is loosely based on Griffith’s experiences as a bathroom attendant in a New York City strip club in the mid-’90s…and his interaction with the 60-plus idiosyncratic characters who enter the bathroom on one afternoon.”

Here’s a pic from the end of the day, and an article that just came out in Variety about the film.

The plan at the time of shooting was to submit the film to festivals next year. Personally I think with the script being so strong and the unconventional way in which it was shot, it would be shocking if George didn’t get a whole slew of screenings out of this one… here’s hoping!

In Restless Souls and Haunted Spirits, a war is fought on a shore, a crazy woman looks for her kidnapped son at a bus station, a father and son have a fall out which results in the son becoming blind and homeless, parents conspire to break up their daughter’s relationship by drowning her lover, a poor old man falls in love with a wealthy young girl and commits suicide; and life goes on, people bumping into one another before and after death and somewhere in between. It is a comic-tragedy based on ancient human attachments, set in the present time somewhere like the USA, narrated by a woman with tragic hair.

The play, by Peter Morgan, is the basis for the Oscar-nominated film of the same name starring Michael Sheen (Frost) and Frank Langella (Nixon).

Tonight, I have the pleasure of appearing in Red Bull Theater’s Revelation Reading series.

We will be reading, The Royal Hunt of the Sun by Peter Shaffer, adapted by Joe Hardy. Mr. Hardy will also be directing the reading.

The reading is at 7pm tonight, at the Theatre at St. Clements Church on 46th St. Tickets can be bought through Red Bull’s website.

The Vanished Clip

Between, the film I shot with Scott Simmons and Freemaniac Productions, has come together and will be making the rounds at the festivals this year. There are few short clips in my reel that I am currently putting together. When that’s done I’ll post it here.

October is Theater-Month in New York apparently. So many good shows, so little time. Recently caught a preview performance of Danny Hoch’s TAKING OVER (directed by Tony Taccone), which will be at the Public Theater this fall. Danny is amazing, and this show was no exception. He tore into the complicated issues of gentrification, community, what it means to have your home taken from you and what we all want “home” to look like. A hot-button issue in these parts, and one that has brought him back to the NY-stage after 10 years away! Check it out.

Lots of great shows coming this winter as well, and I’m working hard to get in some of them. Keep you posted.
